Hermes Pazzaglini

Hermes Pazzaglini heads the Shanghai office of ADVANT Nctm.

His professional practice is focused on the relations between Italy, China and Hong Kong. In this ambit he has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, contract law, corporate and commercial matters, litigation and arbitration, labour law and commercial law. He is one of the few Italian arbitrators on the panels of South China International Arbitration Center (Hong Kong), the Shanghai International Arbitration Center, the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration, the Chinese European Arbitration Centre and the Xi’an Arbitration Commission.

He has managed a number of corporate transactions in China for European clients as well as assisting major Chinese privately held and state-owned companies in the European market. His competences include: China Desk, Corporate | M&A, Private Equity and Venture Capital, Corporate and Commercial, Arbitration, and Dispute Resolution.

He knows six languages: Italian, English, Mandarin, Cantonese, French, and Spanish.

His selected Client/Matters:

• A large EU manufacturing group in household appliances: co-ordinating 25 pieces of litigation in the context of the dissolution of joint venture arrangements between two groups.
• A listed EU group specialized in pharma track-and-trace systems: setting up of their operations in Hong Kong and the mainland of China, including the acquisition of a strategic interest in a PRC entity.
• A large Chinese shipbuilding conglomerate: coordinating a team to handle the Italian part of CSSC and Carnival Cruise USD 1.5 billion JV project.
• Several large EU fair and events groups: setting up of JVs and cooperation con-tracts for fairs and events in the PRC.
• Several large EU retail companies: general assistance for their retail operations in China.
