Lala Hu

Lala Hu is Researcher and Professor of Marketing at the Catholic University of Milan.
She graduated with honors in Business Communications in the same institution and holds a PhD in Management from Ca’ Foscari University of Venice. She holds the Italian National Scientitic Qualification for Associate Professor in Management, and she currently teaches Marketing, Marketing Management, Marketing Communication, and International Marketing at the Catholic University of Milan.
Previously, she was Research Fellow and Adjunct Professor at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice. She has been teaching modules at LUISS Business School, Ca’ Foscari Challenge School, ESCP Europe Turin and H-FARM.
She has been Visiting Scholar in several universities worldwide, including Kellogg School of Management (Northwestern University), King’s College London, Tongji University (Shanghai) and UIBE Beijing. She is a member of the following associations: SIM (Italian Marketing Society), SIMA (Italian Management Society), European Marketing Academy and Korean Scholars of Marketing Science.
She has presented her research in several national and international conferences, such as European Marketing Academy Conference (EMAC), Global Marketing Conference (GMC) and SIM (Italian Marketing Society) Conference. She writes for WIRED about China digital and communication-related topics. The fields of her research interests are International Marketing, Cross-cultural Marketing and Digital Marketing with focus on the Chinese market. She has participated in the project “Strategies of Internationalization and Retail of Made in Italy Products in the Chinese Market” funded by the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR) and in several projects funded by Italian medium-sized multinational companies.
Prior to academia, she worked for the communications agency Leo Burnett.
